My Vision Statement
“I want, by understanding myself, to understand others. I want to be all I am capable of becoming...This all sounds very strenuous and serious. But now that I have wrestled with it, it’s no longer so. I feel happy-deep down. All is well.”
“If I am to be remembered, I hope it is for the honesty I try to demonstrate, the patience I try to live by, and the compassion I feel for others.”
I will provide you the highest quality, and affordable counseling, ensuring equal access to resources to the best extend possible. I will offer scholarships when there is a demonstrated need, as well as point you in the direction of our many free of charge services that our community offers.
As a client, your experience will be extraordinary. It will be completely understood that I am here to serve YOU. You are my customer, and you want to receive CARE. You will be treated with utmost dignity, as well as honoring their cultural/moral values, and their right to self determination.
Serving the needs of the community will be a priority. If there is a need to respond, I will do my utmost to give back to the community that has so generously given to me.
I will uphold the National Association of Social Worker’s Code of Ethics.
I will provide mentorship to those who also long to serve others, sharing experiences and encouraging students/interns to develop the skills necessary to become the healer that lives within them, and the hopes that they will also pass on their shared knowledge to raise the professional standards as we know it today.
Through the use of many creative means, I will help people reach their goals. Using music, drama, arts in general, as well as the use of appropriate humor, I will support you in reaching the dreams you may have only stated in silence, that it may have been viewed as “out of reach,” by yourself or others. You will learn that you can overcome obstacles and barriers that either you or others may have deemed as impossible, or unimportant.
The focus on services will be on looking into your strengths, resiliency, and your overall sense of wellness. The emphasis in counseling will be on wellness, as opposed to making someone with any mental health issue that they are “sick”, but rather a person in need of assistance and care.
